Who We Are
The St. Francis Foundation For A Better World is a volunteer-driven nonprofit rooted in compassion, service, and the belief that small acts of love can transform many lives.
We are not a large institution with layers of administration or bureaucracy. We are neighbors, friends, and community members who have chosen to respond to a simple but urgent call: to serve those in need with dignity, respect, and unwavering care.
Inspired by the spirit of St. Francis of Assisi, we believe in meeting people where they are—whether in moments of hardship, loneliness, hunger, or uncertainty—and offering both practical support and human connection.
Everything we do is made possible by volunteers. There are no paid executive salaries driving our mission forward. Instead, our strength comes from people who give their time, talents, and resources because they believe a better world is possible—and they are willing to help build it.

Our Core Values
LOVE
We lead with kindness, generosity, and action.
PEACE
We seek understanding, reconciliation, and peaceful solutions
COMPASSION
We see the need, show up, and make a difference.
HUMILITY
We serve with purpose, live simply, and put others first.
UNITY
We embrace our differences and celebrate our shared humanity.
We focus on four core expressions of service, which includes taking care of our planet, Earth:
Serve the poor
Comfort the lonely
Feed the hungry
Care for the environment

Each act of service, no matter how small, is part of a larger vision: a world where compassion is not occasional, but constant. We are guided by faith, but our doors are open to all. Our mission is not defined by exclusion, but by welcome.
Together, we are building something simple, enduring, and deeply human—a foundation of care, one act of service at a time.
About St. Francis
Sometimes we are called to do something in life that for some may seem extraordinary, impossible, but necessary. We are asked to examine what our true meaning to life is. How do we leave the world behind once we are gone? Early in his life, Francis of Assisi heard a voice calling him toward a purpose he did not yet understand. Though frightened, he responded with faith, trusting that God would guide the way and that others would help him along the journey. In time, his dream of becoming a knight gave way to a humbler calling: to become a servant of God.
Born into privilege in Assisi, Italy, in 1181, Francis could have spent his life pursuing wealth, status, and comfort. Instead, after a profound spiritual makeover, he chose a different path — one rooted in humility, compassion, and love for humanity. He walked away from material riches to embrace something far greater. He left behind his father’s approval, wealth and social status and traded in his father’s fine cloths for divine rags and set on a journey to embrace and live out God’s calling: a dedicated life to preaching the Gospel and serving others.
Francis saw beauty where others could only see tattered and broken lives. He embraced the poor; the same poor he dismissed growing up as he passed by them. He comforted the forgotten, cared for the sick, and reminded the world that every human being carries inherent dignity and worth. He believed that love was not something simply spoken, but something lived — through kindness, mercy, generosity, and service.
More than 800 years later, his message still speaks powerfully to the human heart because it calls us back to what truly matters: peace, love, compassion, humility and unity. These are powerful forces that when put into practice, overcome judgment, division, and fear, one person at a time.

At the St. Francis Foundation for a Better World, his spirit lives within our mission and our work each day. Inspired by his example, we seek to feed the hungry, comfort the lonely, uplift the vulnerable, and restore hope wherever it has been lost and care for the environment.
We believe lasting change begins when ordinary people choose to care for one another with sincerity and purpose. A single act of kindness can transform the life of someone in need—and open the heart of the one who gives.
The legacy of St. Francis reminds us that what we possess is far less important than what we give, how deeply we love, how generously we serve, and how courageously we choose to bring light where there is darkness.
At the heart of our foundation is a simple belief: when people unite with compassion, purpose, and a shared commitment to serve, a better world becomes possible.
“Start by doing what is necessary, then what is possible, and soon you are doing the impossible.”
— St. Francis of Assisi
